On the first day of the fair, Esther Sánchez Lastra will be selecting a range of decorative items, furniture and other elements from among those presented by the exhibiting companies at Intergift to decontextualise them and insert them in this Space, located at the entrance to Hall 3 in the form of a photocall. The first opened in Tudela (Navarre), followed by another in Calahorra (La Rioja) and one in Zaragoza.

The award ceremony will take place during the After-Fair celebration, on Friday 22 September at 8 pm, which will also be when the “Gift of the Year” Contest Award Ceremony takes place, organised by the REGALO FAMA Association, which this year has recognised the work of MULTIOCIO EVOE in the Candles and Fragrances category; AMADEUS LES PETITS in the Souvenir category; MIQUELRIUS in the Casual Gift category; FISURA in the Christmas Gift category; DOIY in the Decorative Items category; and Pablo Fuster in the Kitchen Accessories category.

Two more fairs will be held at the same time as Intergift: Bisutex, the International Jewellery and Accessories Fair, and MadridJoya, the International Fair for Urban and Trendy Jewellery and Watches. Altogether, these three fairs are an unmissable melting pot for trends, fashion and consumer goods, gathering over 1,500 companies and brands and expecting to welcome roughly 40,000 professionals from Spain and all over the world. Trends: extra large earrings, oversize or mini handbags and furry details

A huge variety of designs can be found in the collections dedicated to this Autumn-Winter season. The most exciting accessories this season are all about diversity and the latest in style. There is one for every occasion. The season will bring items of jewellery that combine materials such as silver, glass, wood, textile and lava. Earrings are the star item, especially in extra large formats with flowers or stones, providing the finishing chic touch to any outfit. Chunky bracelets are also in, as well as bangles in all sizes.  Necklaces this season are dazzling and exuberant, with large chains and pendants. Chokers are still in, but we will no longer see just a simple black band with a small embellishment – this season they are reinvented to become sophisticated items of jewellery. Watches with lined faces will be a must this Autumn-Winter.

Handbags come in new, supersize formats, especially tote bags.  And there will be mini handbags too. No in-betweens: either extra large or super small. We will see a wide range of materials at the Fair and plenty of fur! Furry details and strass will adorn all kinds of accessories, and hats will be made of corduroy, fur or fleece. Glasses will be big and embellished with jewelled details. Scarves will come with striking prints.

The colour range will be broad, both in jewellery and accessories, but autumn colours will predominate with ochre, grey, black, brown and blue combined with bolder hints of colour. Turquoise, lime and purple are out to make a statement. Rustic influences and casual flair will be the thing this winter.

Two more fairs will be held at the same time as BISUTEX: Intergift, the Gift and Decoration Fair, and MadridJoya, the International Fair for Urban and Trendy Jewellery and Watches. During the Fair, IFEMA and AMBE will also be holding the #WEBIKE Forum, a place at which to come together and present some of the most innovative initiatives in the cycling world.

Liberty Seguros will be presenting the results of its “Cycling to Work” initiative during the Fair, at 11 am on Thursday on the #WEBIKE Forum stage.

“Encouraging people to cycle to work is one of the consequences of our commitment to the health and happiness of our employees, as well as showing how much we care for the environment. The results from this past semester show that not only are there different ways to commute, but also more healthy, sustainable and affordable ways,” says María Eugenia Muguerza, Talent Director at Liberty Seguros and a user of the Cycling to Work service.

The #WEBIKE forum will also invite other businesses and initiatives to present their most innovative products, which includes showing how to assemble a bike, introducing the new anti-burst tyres, cycling trail books, a presentation of the book entitled “La importancia de la bicicleta” (The Importance of Bicycles) by Ricardo Marqués, the Bajo Tietar – Gredos Sur marathon, the Bkool trainer system, and a range of other contributions, making the #WEBIKE Forum a melting pot for all bike-related ideas and initiatives.

Under the banner, "Looking after yourself, looking after you", and aimed at the public, this free, innovative initiative will have an exhibition area and a large dissemination area. It is intended to be a way of raising residents’ awareness of the benefits of renovating and rehabilitating buildings, spaces and homes, for greater comfort, savings, efficiency and accessibility.

REHABITAR MADRID wants to support the building sector and help to create local jobs by sharing information about the technical solutions available to the segment with residents and other social, economic and professional agents. To achieve this, participating companies will exhibit their best offerings in windows, floors, doors, building materials, lifts, heating and air conditioners, lighting, home automation, as well as products from refurbishment firms, interior designers, financial institutions, bodies and associations.

Many important sector companies will take part in REHABITAR MADRID 2017, including two sponsors of the event - Philips Lighting and Saint-Gobain; as well as leading business groups and sector entities, such as the National Association of Tile and Building Material Distributors with its campaign “Care for your House”; the National Association of Rehabilitation and Reform Companies (ANERR), the Construction Labour Foundation, and the Spanish Aluminium Association, AEA.

As part of REHABITAR MADRID, ANDIMAC will offer a tool called Care for your House . This is a specialist renovation industry and business tool for achieving well-being in the home. The purpose of the survey is to help everyone to learn how to make their homes more comfortable, offering each user a ranking with the top five solutions, adapted and customised to each home, to offer greater well-being.

. What's new

Among the solutions exhibited at REHABITAR MADRID is the Philips Hue connected home lighting system. This system enables householders to control up to 50 points of light with a Smartphone, Tablet or voice control. Philips Hue adapts lighting conditions to your daily routine, changing the colour temperature (cold white or warm white), dimming or brightening, by playing with 16 million colours to create the most suitable atmosphere at all times. The system has more than 600 compatible apps.

Saint-Gobain will be at REHABITAR MADRID with its CLIMALIT PLUS reinforced thermal insulating glass for windows, thermal and sound insulation with ISOVER mineral wool, WEBER thermal insulating mortars for façades, and PLACO highly-resistant laminated plaster, for creating comfortable, sustainable places for living and enhancing everyday life.

The ANERR association will present SiRE, Efficient Rehabilitation Information Service, offering advice to citizens about the benefits of efficient rehabilitation and refurbishment.

. Programming

At the same time as the trade show, there will be a busy programme, consisting of more than 50 activities, workshops and demonstrations, divided into three areas: Refurbishment Classroom, children’s workshops, and demonstrations by participating companies. This programme includes, among others, meetings such as “Improving homes with replacement windows, by window association ASEFAVE; “The healthy Passive House of the 21st century (by the Passivhaus Consortium (InnSolutions); “How to sleep easy when you do building work” (organised by the ANERR association and the Association of Technical Architects of Madrid), and in the children’s workshop area, the Urbankidss Build your Green City workshops, organised by the Green Building Council; another on Sustainability in the Home for Children, courtesy of Leroy Merlin, and Safety for Children in the Home (Passivhaus Consortium / Roto Frank).

REHABITAR MADRID intends to raise awareness of the growing importance of refurbishment and rebuilding, pivotal to the recovery of the building sector, and accounting for 80% of its activity, according to ANDIMAC. The association estimates that the renovation sector was worth €15,200 million in Spain in 2016, a figure that could increase to €16,100 million within two years. It is also interesting that the amount spent by Spanish families on home improvements increased by 5.2% last year to an average €829 per home. The amount was higher in the Region of Madrid, 6.7%, equal or €742 in the average home.

According to ANERR, the key is energy efficiency, and it is essential to take savings into account when undertaking renovations. In this regard, the National Association of Rehabilitation and Reform Companies focuses on European rules and directives that recognise its impact, like the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency 2011-2020; the European 20/20/20 regulation - which reduces CO2 emissions, committing to reducing power consumption by at least 20% by 2020, and the Spanish Climate Change and Energy Transition Bill, which is being prepared by the Government.

REHABITAR MADRID, space for Rebuilding and Upgrading your home, will be open every day from Friday, 22 September to Sunday, 24 September, from 11 am to 9 pm. Entry to the public is free of charge.
